Student Laptop Eligibility Policy Overview

Eligibility for the Becker Student Laptop Initiative is as follows. All conditions must be met in order to be eligible.

1. You must be new to Becker College in Fall 2009.
2. You must be formally enrolled in a Becker College traditional format degree program.
3. You must have a valid Becker College Student ID#.
4. You must be registered for a full-time credit load. As such, you must be cleared by the Office of the Registrar.
5. Your balance must be paid in full. As such, you must be cleared by the Office of Student Accounts.

If opting-in, it is highly recommended all forms be completed no later than during "Week of Welcome" in order to assure timely delivery of your laptop. 

Step by Step Opt-in Procedure

1. Print either the Opt-in or Design Program Opt-in Eligibility Form or pick up the appropriate form from the offices of the Registrar or Student Accounts.
   Worcester:  SAS Building, 47 Sever Street
   Leicester:  Borger Academic Center, 9 Washburn Square
2. Fill out the Student Information Section of the Eligibility Form including your Becker College Student ID#. 
3. Get signature clearance in the Student Clearance Section of the Eligibility Form from Office of the Registrar and Office of Student Accounts.
4. Review, sign and initial the Student Waiver & Responsibility Section of the Eligibility Form.
5. Bring the completed appropriate Eligibility Form to Judy Jarvis SAS Building, 47 Sever St. You will then receive materials instructing you on how to obtain your laptop etc. This may be done by mail in advance of your arrival on campus.

Step by Step Opt-out Procedure

1. Print either the Opt-out or Design Program Opt-out Eligibility Form or pick up the appropriate form from the offices of the Registrar or Student Accounts.

2. Fill out the Student Information Section of the Eligibility Form including your Becker College Student ID#. 
3. Get signature clearance in the Student Clearance Section of the Eligibility Form from Office of the Registrar and Office of Student Accounts.
4. Review, sign and initial the Student Waiver & Responsibility Section of the Eligibility Form.
5. Bring the completed appropriate Eligibility Form to Judy Jarvis, SAS Building, 47 Sever St. You will then receive your voucher/gift card. This must be done in person on campus.

As soon as you complete the appropriate form and are cleared as Opt-in eligible, you will receive a Vendor Access Instruction Sheet which details the steps you need to take in order to get your laptop etc.  Once you are cleared as Opt-out eligible, you will receive information on the steps you need to take in order to get your Becker College Bookstore voucher/gift card. Student Waiver & Responsibility Overview

You are entirely responsible the care, custody, control and lawful use of the laptop computer hardware and software upon the completion of the transaction. It is your laptop computer. The Fall 2009 deadline for this program is 10/30/2009. You fully understand that there will be no exceptions, refunds, replacements or the like, regardless of the circumstances. After you finish your sophomore year (or the equivalent completed credits) or graduate, whichever comes first, no separation fee will apply.
