Student Laptop Initiative - Fall 2009
Congratulations! As a new student to Becker College in Fall 2009, you may be eligible for the Becker Student Laptop Initiative (BSLI). This year the initiative offers more options than ever before including choices that enhance affordability. Now, eligible students will be able to Opt-in or Opt-out!
- Opt-in - If you choose to Opt-in to BSLI this fall, included in your tuition, you will be provided with an HP Compaq laptop computer, Microsoft Office software, network cable and a laptop bag.
- Opt-out - If you already have a computer that meets the College's minimum system requirements and choose to Opt-out of BSLI this fall you will receive Becker College Bookstore vouchers worth $850 split over your first two semesters.
Please note, Becker College mandates that Design Programs students (game, design, game programming, graphic design, and interior design) have a laptop or notebook computer. If you have any questions regarding the Design Programs, please contact the department chair, Paul Cotnoir, directly at 508.373.9731.
- Design Program Opt-in - If you choose to Opt-in to BSLI this fall, included in your tuition, you will be provided with an HP Compaq laptop computer, Microsoft Office software, network cable and a laptop bag while having a program charge of $1150 added to your bill. This charge is for the upgraded, program specific laptop as mandated by Becker's Design Programs.
- Design Program Opt-out - If you already have a laptop that meets the College's minimum system requirements and choose to Opt-out of BSLI this fall you will receive Becker College Bookstore vouchers worth $850 split over your first two semesters.
Students who Opt-out or who are not eligible for Fall 2009 BSLI are welcome to visit the new Becker Computer Purchase Program webpage where you can find links to independently buy hardware and software at discounted rates at selected technology vendors.
